Fund handling
Firm markets a banking department and online account information. The Strength page reprints Washington RCW 19.310.040 facilitator boilerplate (separately identified TIN account or fidelity bond). That is statute language, not a verified statement that Old Republic Exchange opens a TIN-titled account on every file.
Who it is for
Nationwide delayed, simultaneous, reverse, and improvement/build-to-suit 1031 exchangers wanting a title-insurer QI under ORI (NYSE: ORI). Homepage cites parent assets of about $25.1 billion as of March 31, 2022.
Verdict
Institutional title-family QI with unusually large published fidelity/E&O figures on the Strength page and a parent guaranty-on-request story. Insurance dollar amounts have moved across marketing PDFs over time (booklet vs Strength vs Why Choose) — request current certificates before wiring. FEA membership appears on the firm GenInfo booklet; named CES® holders and segregated/dual-sig wire mechanics were not verified on the public pages used here.
Notes
This is a QI custody file, not a securities offering. Old Republic Exchange Company is the legal name on the 01/2018 GenInfo booklet. The public site trades as Old Republic Exchange. Homepage copy calls the firm a subsidiary of Old Republic International Corporation, which also owns Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. The booklet places the QI in the Old Republic Title Insurance Group under ORI (NYSE: ORI).
The Strength page (fetched 2026-09-05) is the current insurance source used here: $120 million fidelity aggregate with a $60 million single-loss limit, and $60 million professional-liability aggregate. The Why Choose page still states $55 million E&O aggregate with the same $60 million / $120 million fidelity split. The 01/2018 booklet states $80 million fidelity and $50 million E&O plus a “Letter of Guaranty from corporate parent.” Those older figures are not restated as current. Ask for certificates dated to your file.
Strength also offers, on request, a written guarantee from Old Republic National Title Holding Company to reimburse loss of funds transmitted to Old Republic Exchange if the loss results from the QI’s or its employees’ gross negligence, fraud, or dishonesty. Why Choose describes a parental letter of indemnity for actual loss caused by bankruptcy or failure to comply with the exchange agreement. Terms are “on request,” not a published form.
Attorneys and exchange professionals are marketed. No named CES® holder appears on the pages cited, so cesOnStaff is unknown.
The GenInfo booklet lists a Delaware statutory trust as a possible disregarded-entity vesting under Rev. Rul. 2004-86. That is educational vesting copy, not DST-as-replacement-property QI marketing, so DST stays unknown.
The homepage parent-asset figure of about $25.1 billion is dated March 31, 2022 on the page itself. Why Choose uses an older ORI asset figure. Neither is updated here.
OREXCO: the short name used for Old Republic Exchange. The domain orexco1031.com redirects to oldrepublicexchange.com (checked 2026-10-22), and FEA’s directory lists Old Republic Exchange Company with orexco1031.com as its website.
